Like the living and grown
cells of a tree
winter will rearrange

Are the thoughts we have known,
certain to be
subject to season's change.

Praise the spring for its dream,
winter for truth,
harvesting leafless earth;

Praise a man for a scheme
burgeoned from youth;
time will assess its worth.
