Merrill Feitell

Merrill Feitell was born and raised in New York City and completed her MFA at Columbia University. Her first book, Here Beneath Low-Flying Planes, won the 2004 Iowa Short Fiction Award and will be published by University of Iowa Press this fall. Her stories have appeared in publications such as Book magazine's 2003 special issue of "Newcomers' Fiction," Glimmer Train, Hampton Shorts, and Best New American Voices 2000. She is currently at work on her first novel, Any Minute Now, which was awarded the Bronx Council on the Arts First Chapter Prize.
