CARL PHILLIPS

Carl Phillips is the author of seven collections of poetry, including Cortège (Graywolf, 1995), a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award; From the Devotions (Graywolf, 1998), a finalist for the National Book Award; and, most recently, The Rest of Love (FSG, 2004). He is also author of an essay collection Coin of the Realm (Graywolf, 2004). He is Professor of English at Washington University in Saint Louis.
