Mario Vargas Llosa

Mario Vargas Llosa is one of Latin America’s most distinguished fiction writers and essayists. He is the author of twenty five books, most recently Temptation of the Impossible: Victor Hugo and Les Misérables (Princeton, 2007) and the novel The Bad Girl, from which “The Chilean Girls“ is excerpted, forthcoming from Farrar, Strauss and Giroux in October 2007.
