Maxine Scates

Maxine Scates is the author of two poetry collections: Black Loam (Cherry Grove, 2005) and Toluca Street (Pittsburgh, 1989), winner of the Oregon Book Award for Poetry. Her work has also appeared in such journals as Agni, Crazyhorse, Missouri Review, and Prairie Schooner. She also co-edited, with David Trinidad, Holding Our Own: The Selected Poems of Ann Stanford (Copper Canyon, 2001).
