Jean Bethke Elshtain
Jean Bethke Elshtain is the Laura Spelman Rockefeller Professor of Social and Political Ethics at the University of Chicago, with appointments in the departments of political science and international relations. Her books include Sovereignty: God, State, and Self (Basic Books, 2008), Jane Addams and the Dream of American Democracy (Basic Books, 2002), Democracy on Trial (Basic Books, 1995), Women and War (Basic Books, 1987), and Public Man, Private Woman (Princeton, 1981).
