Miracle

ISSUE:  Summer 2010
Standing before a fountaining hydrant, a boy stands ankle-deep in water, flexing his biceps in his bathing suit.

One day, I will walk on water,
shimmering like an oil slick on my street.

One day, I will walk on water,
let the folks see me stepping across the pain.

One day, I will walk on water,
make my way safely to the other side.
