Lambert Davis, Editor (1937-1938)

Lambert Davis edited VQR only a short time before leaving for Harcourt Brace and Co. In 1948 he became the director of the University of North Carolina Press, a position he held until 1970. Not only did he initiate UNC Press's successful publishing partnership with the Institute for Early American History, he also published several bestsellers, including Gwen Terasaki's Bridge to the Sun (1957) and Michihiko Hachiya's Hiroshima Diary (1955).
