Jeffrey A. Hammond

Jeffrey A. Hammond, who teaches at St. Mary’s College of Maryland, has won a Pushcart Prize and Shenandoah’s Carter Prize for Essay; his work has also been cited in Best American Essays. His most recent books include The American Puritan Elegy (Cambridge, 2000) and Ohio States: A Twentieth-Century Midwestern (Kent State, 2002). Ohio States was one of two national finalists for an Independent Publisher Book Award in the essays/creative nonfiction category.
