John Edgar Wideman

John Edgar Wideman is the author of twenty books, including American Histories (Scribner, 2018), Writing to Save a Life (Scribner, 2016), Philadelphia Fire (Henry Holt, 1990), Hoop Roots (HMH, 2001), and Sent for You Yesterday (Avon, 1983). He has been honored with a MacArthur Fellowship and has won the PEN/Faulkner Award twice, has been a finalist for the National Book Award, and has twice been a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award. He lives in New York andĀ France.
