Julian Bond

Julian Bond has served as Chairman of the Board of the NAACP since 1998. He co-edited Lift Every Voice and Sing: A Celebration of the Negro National Anthem (Random House, 2000) and Gonna Sit at the Welcome Table (American Heritage, 1995). He is also author of the classic A Time to Speak, a Time to Act: The Movement in Politics (Simon & Schuster, 1972).
