LibraryThing Hits the Big Time

PUBLISHED: February 5, 2008

Lit geek site LibraryThing has been discovered by the Wall Street Journal, who briefly recounts the site’s history and impact. The social networking book cataloging website has even found fans among our own Thomas Jefferson and William Faulkner, each of whom have cataloged their libraries.

The information recorded about each tome by the site’s users is being shared outwardly now – nearly 300 libraries have incorporated data from the AbeBooks-owned site, and Powell’s started doing likewise this past week.

We’d join the LibraryThing movement, but we’re a Bookpedia shop, Apple fanboys that we are.
