Ann Close

Ann Close is a senior editor at Alfred A. Knopf, where she began in 1970. She has been Alice Munro’s editor there since 1978. Also among her fiction writers are Norman Rush, Gish Jen, Jayne Anne Phillips, Jay Cantor, Stephen Harrigan, and Brad Leithauser. Her nonfiction writers include Martin Sherwin, Kai Bird, Tony Hiss, Lawrence Wright, and Gregory Curtis. She is the recipient of a Roger Klein Award for Editorial Excellence.
