Harlan Cleveland

Harlan Cleveland (1918–2008) was a former president of the University of Hawaii, dean of the Hubert H. Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota, and an American ambassador to NATO. He was the author of a dozen books, most on world affairs, including The Obligations of Power: American Diplomacy in the Search for Peace (Harper & Row).
