Every year we like to do an internal audit of gender parity in our pages. This count includes every contributor—from poets to reporters, from fiction writers to photographers (and, of course, our beloved illustrators). Basically, if they got a contributor bio in a print issue of VQR, they’re included. Here are the results for 2017: Out of 148 contributions, 74 came from men; 72 from women; and two from gender-nonconforming artists.
