Alberto Rios

Alberto Ríos, Arizona’s inaugural poet laureate and a recent chancellor of the Academy of American Poets, is the author of twelve collections of poetry, most recently Not Go Away Is My Name (Copper Canyon, 2020). Ríos is also the author of three short story collections, a novel, and a memoir. Since 1982 he has taught at Arizona State University, where he is a Regents’ Professor, Virginia G. Piper Chair in Creative Writing, and the Katherine C. Turner Endowed Chair in English.
