Biography

Pia Z. Ehrhardt is the author of Famous Fathers & Other Stories (MacAdam/Cage, 2007). Her work has appeared in McSweeney’s Quarterly Concern, Narrative, and the Oxford American. She is the recipient of a Bread Loaf Fellowship and the Narrative Prize.

The Hillendale House

For the first time in our lives our mother’s house on Hillendale Drive is dirty. She’s been on a walker for years and can’t bend at the hip but still won’t allow my sisters and me to bring someone in. We do it anyway.
