She is the author of Islands of Abandonment: Nature Rebounding in the Post-Human Landscape (Viking, 2021), which was shortlisted for the 2021 Baillie Gifford Prize, the British Academy Book Prize, and the Wainwright Prize for Writing on Global Conservation.
