Caylin Capra-Thomas

Biography

Caylin Capra-Thomas is the author of the poetry collection Iguana Iguana (Deep Vellum, 2022). Her poems and essays have appeared widely, including in the New England Review, Pleiades, 32 Poems, The Georgia Review, and Longreads. The recipient of fellowships from the Vermont Studio Center and Sewanee Writers’ Conference, she recently earned a doctorate from the University of Missouri in Columbia.

and I followed a stray dog to the center of town.

Dogs know the way. I don’t. I was with JT,

Reading The Machine in the Garden While Billy Mows the Lawn

Death, too, is in Arcadia. Outside, Billy labors
the push mower over the backyard’s topography, lunar
with moles, the false hills that give way to the craters
of their homes.
