Emile J. Talbot

Emile J. Talbot is professor emeritus of French and Comparative Literature at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He has published extensively on both French and Quebec literature, with articles appearing in France, Canada, Switzerland, and the United States. His book publications include La Critique stendhalienne de Balzac à Zola (1979), Stendhal and Romantic Esthetics (1985), Stendhal Revisited (1993), and Reading Nelligan (McGill-Queens University Press, 2002). He is currently working on a study of Quebec culture of the 1930s.
