Leila Aboulela

Leila Aboulela grew up in Khartoum, Sudan, and now lives in the United Arab Emirates. She is the author of two novels, The Translator, named as a Notable Book of the Year by the New York Times, and Minaret, long-listed for the Orange Prize and IMPAC Dublin Award. Her book of short stories, Coloured Lights, contains her story “The Museum” which won the first Caine Prize for African Writing.
