Marjane Satrapi

Marjane Satrapi was born in Rasht and grew up in Tehran, Iran. She is the author of the bestselling graphic novels Persepolis (2003), Persepolis 2 (2004), and Embroideries (2004), all issued in the United States by Pantheon. She is currently at work completing an animated film adaptation of Persepolis. Her new graphic novel, Chicken with Plums, will be published in the fall of 2006.
